Our discs use 3M’s precision-engineered abrasive blades, which, combined with a rigid fiber backing, increase productivity on medium to heavy duty jobs.

3M™ Cubitron™ II Fiber Disc 987C delivers exceptionally high cutting performance with less pressure, helping users complete complex tasks with minimal effort. Our durable discs are ideal for dewelding, chamfering, grinding and smoothing. The grinding aid on the surface of the disc makes it an excellent choice for machining all types of metals. This helps keep the blade cooler when machining stainless steel and heat-sensitive metals such as nickel alloys and titanium, reducing the risk of metal discoloration, oxidation, and heat cracking. This means our discs last longer and cut better than competing products.

The discs contain 3M’s precision-shaped blades that form triangular cutting points, cutting through the metal by chipping rather than scraping or plowing like traditional abrasives. These points self-sharpen as they break, ensuring extremely fast cutting performance. Our discs have a strong and rigid vulcanized fiber base that resists wear and tear and is suitable for heavy sanding jobs. They are ideal for removing rolled coating, surface defects and unevenness.
