ELGA P48S is a general-purpose welding electrode with an alkaline coating, designed for welding medium and high carbon steels. The electrode ensures a high-quality weld with a low hydrogen content and is suitable for use in the manufacture and repair of responsible structures.
When welding, the electrode works with a soft and stable arc, which allows good control of the weld pool. The slag separates easily and there is little spatter, ensuring a clean and high-quality end result. The electrode is suitable for welding in all positions except top-down welding.
The ELGA P48S electrode works with reverse polarity direct current (DC+). When welding root seams, cross-polar direct current (DC−) can also be used.
